Nexterday Book vol II, new Nexterday North Event in 2016, plus new web community will help Telcos cope with digital transformation and turn into “a Perfect Digital Company”.
HELSINKI, Finland—12 February 2016—Comptel Corporation (OMX Helsinki: CTL1V) announced today several initiatives, which build on the momentum of the company’s disruptive Operation Nexterday movement and aim to inspire telco industry into action in 2016.
“2015 was a transformational year for Comptel. Through our inaugural book and Nexterday North event, we outlined our vision for embracing digitalisation. We consistently voiced our belief that the technology, sales, marketing and service playbooks that the telco industry has relied on for so long are broken. Last year was about pioneering a change in the way operators and global enterprises think about how to serve their customers,” said Ari Vänttinen, CMO, Comptel. “But 2016 will be the year of execution. The telco industry is ready to take the next step, and so are we. This year will be about putting our ideas into action.”
Comptel will first launch “Nexterday: Volume II” at Mobile World Congress, taking place 22-25 February in Barcelona. Building on the themes of “Operation Nexterday” – more than 5,000 copies of which were distributed last year – this newest edition will explore how operators and global enterprises can build the “perfect digital company,” for and with their customers. Contributions from operators, analysts and academics offer advice on how to better meet the digital buying demands of “Generation Cloud,” while unlocking routes to new revenue-driving service opportunities. This year´s book features new stories about telco innovation, plus insights from authors like economist Dr. Kjell Nordström, business experts Stefan Moritz, Mark Curtis and Jeetu Mahtani, and analysts Stewart Rogers, Fredrik Jungermann, Caroline Chappell and Steve Bell.
Comptel will also roll out Nexterday.org, a new online magazine and community for businesses of all types to learn more about and share their thoughts on digital business transformation. Nexterday.org will host content from both the Operation Nexterday books and the Nexterday North 2015 event, containing a steady stream of related news articles, videos and digital content. This is a forum where readers can discuss and share their viewpoints on digitalisation topics.
Comptel will also embark on a year-long Nexterday Tour which begins following Mobile World Congress. The tour will include 20 regional events for decision makers and partners, and culminates with Nexterday North 2016, taking place 28-29 November in Helsinki. Last year’s inaugural event brought together operators, partners, key industry players and futuristic business thinkers from around the world to challenge telco industry norms and seek inspiration from other verticals. It took place in the run-up to Europe’s largest and fastest growing startup event, Slush. In 2016, Comptel plans to grow the number of contributing voices from both within and outside the telco industry to create an even richer, more dynamic and inspiring anti-seminar.
“Last year, we encouraged operators to re-think their approaches to capitalise on new digital opportunities. This year, we’re asking operators to take the next step and work on designing the ‘perfect digital company,’ for and with their customers,” continued Vänttinen. “Along the way, we’ll be supporting them with the product innovations and industry collaboration models they need to be successful. We’re kicking off the year in a big way at Mobile World Congress and are looking forward to everything else that’s ahead in 2016.”
