Comptel’s FWD Earns Industry Recognition for Making Data Personal and Contextual

Global Telecoms Business Honours FWD’s Innovative Contribution to DNA’s Digital Sales 

HELSINKI, Finland—25 May 2016—Comptel Corporation (OMX Helsinki: CTL1V) today announced that its digital sales and marketing solution for mobile data, FWD, which was introduced just last year, has been recognised for its innovation and market success with Finnish mobile operator, DNA, by the Global Telecom Business (GTB) Innovation Awards.

FWD won in the Consumer Service Innovation Category for giving DNA the ability to simplify and better contextualise and customise mobile data sales. It is Comptel’s second consecutive win in the GTB Innovation Awards, which celebrate prominent telecom industry innovators for their successful partnerships.

FWD is a cloud-based white label solution that enables contextual, time-based data sales directly from end user devices. FWD transforms megabyte-based data plans into simple time based chunks, which makes buying data simple, personal and contextual. This also drives data use and enables operators to maximise data revenues. Through FWD web interface, operators can effectively create, price, market and target their data offering in minutes, and monitor their performance in real-time. FWD also enables operators to make use of its innovative dynamic pricing capabilities, making it possible for them to differentiate the pricing, for example, between off-peak and peak hours.

The award extends industry recognition of Comptel’s innovation, which has recently received several other honours, including a Communicator Award for its Operation Nexterday initiative, which aims to rewrite operator playbooks for sales, marketing and service to accelerate their imminent digital transformation, and selection as a finalist in the Light Reading Leading Lights Awards for its continuous innovative work with CSPs globally.
